A Week in the life of a Female Entrepreneur

It’s Sunday night and I’m just in this studio about to film a video on why I don’t think the Canon 70D is the right camera for beginning YouTuber.

Hi, can I please get a large English breakfast tea.

I like to start my week with a solid day in the office. No meetings. No distractions. Just catching up on anything I couldn’t finish last week and also getting ready because I know that this is going to be a busy week so I just want to be on top of everything as best as I can be.

On Tuesdays, I normally try and work from home, but today, I’m actually in the city, specifically, I’m in Hyde Park at the moment, but I’m in the city to meet with my accountant but I love to get to the city early because they’re actually located near Starbucks and I know when I’m at a Starbucks, I’m guaranteed I can get my bagel. I don’t know if anyone else has this issue, but for some reason, when I order takeaway like tea or coffee and I say my name, no one can ever understand it and so I always end up just being “Alex”.

Now, I’ve just driven Robert off at the airport. Today is going to be a long day.

I’m working at Sydney Start-up Hub which is that green building up there. I’m doing a presentation tonight with the Zambezi to promote my cause of manufacturing in China. I thought I would work from here for the day because this is where the event is at. There’s a Starbucks just there. I think I’m going to cave and I’m going to go get a tea and a bagel.

Of course, I’m presenting tonight and just got Mexican all over myself. I’m washing my top but I think I’m going to have to go. It’s a nightmare. I have to go shopping now. Now picking between this maroon top and cream. As you can see, I went with the maroon top. But it’s 5:30 now so I’m about to head down to the event centre.

Pretty much spent the next nine years making every single mistake you can potentially make. I’ve been robbed, scammed. I’ve been kidnapped a little bit in China. I’ve ended up in a shanty hospital in China. None of this is going to happen to you by the way if you do my cause. I just had very bad luck with travelling.

Good morning. I ended up getting home at about 10:00 p.m. last night. It was you know a super, super long day and so today I’m trying to balance it out so I’m having my oats. I’m having a green smoothie, but I do have a meeting with my mentor at 3:00 this afternoon.

I’m just walking to my mentor now but only if he’s ready because I know he kisses me which every good mentor should.

On Fridays, I normally work from Cub, but today I have to head up to Newcastle for a meeting for the small business and mental health leadership team that I’m part of, but I came into Cub quickly in the morning because I have a coffee meeting but I’m the first one here. It’s like no one’s around besides the cleaner.

I just finished my meeting about the small business and mental health project to create an app that looks after business owners’ well-being. So not just mental health, but just an all in one app that business owners can have that just really checks in with all aspects of their lives. As I mentioned on here before like I’ve had my struggles as an entrepreneur and so there was just never any resource that I found that was actually like worth using. So I’m just giving feedback as to what they design. Really cool, but now it’s like I think 4:00 or something on Friday afternoon and I have to drive back to Sydney. Now, it must be 3:00. I’m going to drive back to Sydney.

I’m in Cronulla today as I am doing a user test today for Synoply. But I’m actually going to film a separate episode all about that so I’m going to end this vlog here. If you enjoyed this week in the lifestyle vlog, please give this video a thumbs up. And if you want to see more from me, please consider subscribing because I upload every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I hope to see you in my next video.
