Good morning and welcome back to my channel! Emma and I are having a co-working day today so what I do, I guess, to explain, how should I say this?I like change. So I for my routine always try and change it up so that I’m not at the office every single day. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I go to our office in Prestons. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I try and work from home to give myself a bit of a slower-paced day. On Fridays, I work from CUB and I generally book all my external meetings on Friday so that people can come to me and it works really well because there’s a cafe at CUB and I can have my lunch there and I can sort of just do a solid day of meetings. And then once a month, Emma and I like to get together and do a co-working day and so we pick a different co-working office every month. We normally book it through like LiquidSpace or different websites like that and we’ll spend the day working together.

It’s just really lovely to get out of our normal routine and we’ll have lunch together and we try and make it where we sort of spend a little bit more time on like strategy and like focusing on like a bigger picture stuff and less just day-to-day tasks.

Today, we’re at the executive centre at Brain Guru, which is absolutely beautiful. Of course, I’ll show you all of that. I just wanted to take you along with me for the day and just show you I guess what the co-working space is like and talk a bit more about why I love co-working and then tonight, we’ve got dinner with one of our friends who’s also an entrepreneur. That should be fun. I will take you along with me and touch base with you later.

Okay so Emma and I are on this freaking mission because I’ve just had all these people calling me telling me that I’m in the Sydney Morning Herald and I’m not telling you this because I’m trying to like promote myself or anything because the articles not really about me it’s about something that I’m really passionate about which is small business and mental health. It’s me sharing my journey of what happened to me a couple of years ago. I’m trying to get a copy of the paper. Brain Guru doesn’t have a newsagent and we’re literally walking around the 40-degree heat trying to find a newsagent so that it can have a look at this. I know it’s online but of course, you want to keep a physical copy. We’re now walking up to Kent Street to find this newspaper.

So Emma was just telling me that the co-working space has newspapers all over the table. We’re such idiots.

I just tucked away to have a read of the article and I wanted to make sure I read it as soon as possible because (inaudible) share a very personal story about the mental health struggles that I went through as a result of my business in 2014/15. I just sort of wanted to read what it said because obviously, it’s like a very personal story and very vulnerable, but in the end, it was really good.

The reason why I was part of this story is that I am part of the leadership team for this project that’s been funded by care in partnership with every mind to create a digital hub for entrepreneurs that’s going to be a resource for mental health. At the moment, nothing exists for specifically entrepreneurs and I think entrepreneurs go through unique mental health struggles. It’s different from being an employee. I’m really excited to be part of that.

The reason why I wanted to mention it in the vlog is because I want to make sure that this is a part of my everyday conversation that I talk about it so that other businesses and business owners who are going through similar things don’t feel alone and I want to actually do a full-on series where I share my story, share about what things I did to get better and overcome the situation because there were no resources at the time available so I just had to sort of create my own mental health plan.

I’m going to be doing a full video about that but if you pick up the Sydney Morning Herald today or look at it online, it’s the 20th of December. I share briefly a little bit about my story if you have a look at it. If you’re a sole business owner and you’re going through your own struggles with mental health whether it’s anxiety, depression, and you have a just want to chat with someone, I am not a medical professional and I definitely always recommend professionals so I speak to a psychologist every single month if you ever wanted to chat about business or have someone to talk to about the situation you’re going through please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

All right, Emma and I just got kicked out of co-working space. We don’t want to stay too late. It was a really good day. I had really hoped to get more done for Synoply but schools finished now for Exodus. I thought that it would be a little bit quieter, but unfortunately it’s just so much stuff to do, some really urgent shipments to get out, so didn’t really get to work on Synoply but that’s all good because I’m going to have lots of time over the summer holidays.

Emma and I had a very fun day. We got a lot of work done and so now we are going to go have some dinner and just relax—drinks. If you enjoyed today’s vlog, please like it so that I know to make more vlogs like this and if you want to see more videos from me, consider subscribing because I upload every day at the moment so you get a lot of videos. See you on my next one. Bye!
